Laura has been a lawyer in California since 2001. She has over 14 years of construction-related defense experience, handling site accident claims, construction contract disputes, and construction defect claims where she has defended general contractors and subcontractors, representing companies in every trade common in residential construction. She has also defended multiple trades in the commercial construction defect arena, including plumbers, framers, concrete subcontractors, window installers, tile and flooring subcontractors, electricians, graders and water proofers. Laura’s extensive litigation experience includes the defense of insureds sued for personal injuries related to auto and truck collisions, slip/trip and fall incidents, product failures, dog bites, and mold cases.
Prior to her insurance defense practice, Laura was general counsel for a nationwide not-for-profit purchasing group which provided an insurance program for subcontractors. She was responsible for all legal issues affecting the company including litigation, employment law issues, contract negotiations, and the company’s compliance with insurance regulations and registration in 37 states.
